Tartanilla is a satirical pop-culture and fact-checking blog with a strict commitment to reader privacy. We believe that enjoying memes, deep dives, celebrity receipt checks, and humorous alternate histories should never come at the expense of your personal data. We practice: minimal data collection, zero invasive surveillance, and complete transparency. We do not sell your personal information, we do not run third-party behavioral trackers, and we do not build advertising profiles.
2. Data We Collect (And What We Don't)
A. Anonymous Web Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first and cookieless. It measures aggregate metrics such as total page views, referrer domains, approximate country of origin, and device type. It does not track individual users across the web or store persistent identifier cookies.
B. Reader Inquiries, Tips & Submissions
When you email us with a tip, pitch, dad joke, or correction request, your email address and message contents are kept private and used exclusively to communicate with you regarding your inquiry. We never share or sell reader email correspondence.
C. Server Access Logs
Standard HTTP request logs (IP addresses, request timestamps, user-agent headers) are temporarily processed by our hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare) for threat mitigation, DDoS defense, and rate limiting. These technical logs are purged automatically.
3. What We Never Do
- We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to data brokers or third parties.
- We do not embed third-party surveillance ad networks.
- We do not include social media tracking pixels (such as Meta or TikTok pixels).
- We do not train closed AI models on your private communications or feedback.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
Tartanilla uses zero tracking or advertising cookies. Standard functional local storage may be used purely for client-side user experience preferences (such as saving your reading or display preferences).
